We have been relying on Mattias (35) for 14 years. He started out as a loyal job student at Dockx Movers and then progressed to become an agent at Dockx Rental. Now, 14 years later, Mattias is a Sales Manager.
The best thing about the job?
The dynamism with the customers, the ambience between colleagues, the freedom that you find in a family business... We are given complete freedom in our job. There is great trust on both sides. I have been working with my colleague Klaas for several years, so we are very well attuned to each other. Finally, the family atmosphere at Dockx really appeals to me.
What are your main tasks?
I primarily work with companies. As a Sales Manager, I manage all the large dossiers such as minibuses and special cars ranging from classic cars to luxury cars. I am no stranger to events or other large-scale happenings, but I also like to get my teeth into smaller projects.
What is your most memorable Dockx moment?
When you work in a Dockx Service Shop, you witness a lot of things. You come into contact with lots of customers and receive all kinds of requests. For example, a colleague of mine took a reservation for five identical minibuses. But he forgot to pass this on. At the last minute, we had to pull out all the stops to collect and prepare these vehicles in time. Thanks to my team's collegiality and excellent cooperation, we succeeded in pleasing the customer after a very stressful day. That commitment and solidarity between colleagues is the most memorable thing for me.
Are you passionate about cars? What is your favourite car?
When I started working at Dockx, I was very passionate about cars. During my job as a Service Shop Agent, I had the opportunity to drive different special vehicles (classic cars, sports cars, etc.). That was fantastic! Now, after all these years, it has become a bit of a habit. I currently have more contact with our multi-purpose minibuses. I am involved in planning and managing the schedule on a daily basis. Together with my colleague Klaas, we make a sport of getting the occupancy as high as possible. And if I notice that this is working, I am a happy!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I spend a lot of time with my two children in my free time. There is nothing I like more than making and renovating things myself. I am currently making a playground for my children. If there is any time left, I love going out for a drink with friends.
