What should I bring when picking up a vehicle?

When you pick up the vehicle, you must present the following documents:

  • a valid Belgian ID card
  • a valid European driving licence 
  • a credit card or bank card (the holder of the card must be present when the vehicle is picked up)

What happens when I return the vehicle?

You return the vehicle on the day that the rental contract ends, before 07:30, unless a different time was agreed upon. 

  • If you rent until Saturday, you return the vehicle on Saturday before 17:30.
  • If you rent until Sunday, you return the vehicle on Monday before 07:30.

It is possible to return the vehicle outside opening hours. You park the rental vehicle on the car park of the Dockx Service Shop where you picked it up. You lock the vehicle and place the car keys in the key box. Please note: the renter remains responsible for the vehicle until it is dealt with by a Dockx employee. 

We expect you to return the vehicle clean - inside and outside - and in accordance with the agreements on the rental contract. A supplement can be charged if the vehicle is not clean. 

Smoking is not permitted in the vehicles. If we detect a smoke odour, we will charge a cleaning fee of €150. 

Your invoice and a damage report will be sent to your e-mail address when you return the vehicle. You can consult your invoices under ‘My account’ on the Dockx Rental website.

What if I want to pick up or return my rental car outside opening hours?

It is possible to return the vehicle outside opening hours. You park the rental vehicle on the car park of the Dockx Service Shop where you picked it up. You lock the vehicle and place the car keys in the key box.

It's only possible to pick up the vehicle outside the opening hours via the Dockx App. Download the app or check the opening hours and days of your Dockx Service Shop

Please note: the renter remains responsible for the vehicle until it is dealt with by a Dockx employee.

Can I return the vehicle at a different location?

You want to return the vehicle to a different Dockx Service Shop? You can arrange this in advance in the Dockx Service Shop where you picked up the vehicle, or you can select this option during your online reservation. We charge a supplement of € 50.00 (incl. VAT) for this service.
