Do I need to pay a deposit?

A deposit must be paid for every rental. The amount of the deposit depends on the length of the rental contract and the type of vehicle. You can pay the deposit in cash, via Bancontact or credit card (Visa or MasterCard). We only accept a credit card for certain categories of rental vehicles. The holder of the credit card must be present when the vehicle is picked up.

In exceptional cases, no deposit is payable. This is only possible in the context of a structural and long-term customer relationship and provided the Dockx accounting department has given permission.

What are the payment options and when is payment due?

Which methods of payment are available?
You can pay in cash, with Bancontact or credit card. We only accept a deposit via credit card for some vehicles. After the rental, further payment can be made in cash. Ask about the payment methods per vehicle in your Dockx Service Shop. For online reservations, you always receive an overview of the payment methods per vehicle.

When is payment due?
When you return the vehicle, we go through the invoice with you and draw up the final bill. If you return the vehicle outside office hours, we ask you to go back to the Dockx Service Shop where you returned the vehicle within three days to take care of the bill and payment.

Does the credit card have to be in the driver's name?

No, the credit card does not have to be in the name of the principal driver. However, the holder of the credit card is required to be present when picking up the vehicle.

When is the deposit returned?

The deposit is returned no later than 5 business days after your invoice is issued. If you paid the deposit in cash and want to receive cash back, you must mention this when picking up the vehicle. If you forget to mention this, the deposit will be placed on the bank account of your choosing.

How do I request an invoice/when will I receive an invoice?

Your invoice will be sent to your e-mail address when you return the vehicle. You can consult your invoices under ‘My account’ on the Dockx Rental website. 

Please note: if you want an invoice based on a VAT number, you must inform us before the rental period begins.
